Download Driver Perc 6i

I'm attempting to install Windows server 2008 R2 x64 on a poweredge 2970 server that has a perc 6/i raid controller. I configured the raid but when attempting to install Windows it says it can't find any drives to install to. And I can't find a driver on dell's site, only.

We've recently had to migrate from the Dell 1950 to the Dell R610 since Dell isn't making/selling the 19xx series any longer. The operating system we use is Windows XP Embedded, and to get a solid build it's necessary to have a Windows XP install on the hardware you're targeting. I used the driver mentioned above (after 5 hrs of trying what DELL and Microsoft suggested) with a new PE T310. However I also started with the DELL USC - SELECT PLATFORM UPDATE WIZARD and the and the SYSTEM MANAGEMENT and TOOLS disk (so you don't need to get the update from the FTP server. If you have this, you can choose Server 2003, it will tell you that your source disk does not match the selection, but it will also let you proceed. Have the above listed driver on a flash drive, so when it asks for it you have it ready. One thing that was very annoying was that I had to point it directly to the driver - nodev, inf, not the directory and not the oemsetup.ini file.If you have an older version of the SYSTEM MANAGEMENT and TOOLS disk, I found one afterwards, you could select Windows 2000 server, and it will go a lot smoother.

Have a Dell PE T310 with a Perc 6/i Raid Controller configured as a (3) Disk Raid (5). Raid has been configured and disks are recognized. The disk presently has two partitions.

The system has no OS, I am attempting to load Windows 2008 R2 from original install DVD's. The install process reaches the point where it realizes there are no Perc 6/i drivers, the install halts and prompts to load drivers. I am having a problem finding the correct drivers and/or method to load the drivers during the install. I have located, on the Dell website, under the Service Tag of the T310 Server, several versions of what it refers to as firmware updates to the 6/i controller. I have navigated deeper into the Dell download pages and found file or files that are referred to as 6/i Adapter drivers, which is what I think I need.I have down loaded, extracted the adapter drivers to a flash drive and then inserted the flash drive in the server at the appropriate time (when being prompted for drivers), browsed to the flash drive and executed an install only to have the system search the media for the compatible drivers and reports that it finds no compatible drivers. I have tried this same approach using the firmware updates with the same results. Can I assume I am not finding the correct drivers or, is my method of loading them during the install incorrect? I should also point out that the server is out of Dell warranty so they are not anxious to assist, but I did in a chat, get the Dell tech to send me links to two of their web pages, one was for the actual drivers to the 6/i controller, which I downloaded and extracted to a flash drive.

These I believe are adapter drivers but I have had no success at getting them to install from the flash drive during the OS install. The second link is to page that provides instruction on the down load of a Nautilus Firmware Update Utility. This download creates bootable media, either flash drive or DVD.

As I understand this utility it determines which Perc controller you have and will update the system with the compatible drivers. This is where I really get confused, because when I boot after creation of the bootable media it runs and then reports there is no OS. Which there isn't an OS installed because that is what I am trying to accomplish.Any suggestions will be appreciated as I do need to get this server up and running. Thanks,John Nelson. You should insert the USB stick before you boot so its presence is detected and made available when you go through the load drivers option.dell has build and update media and OS assistant that one should use to boot the system with and the build and update will present all the drivers that apply to your system to the OS.disk you would have an option to reconfigure theyou can get the dell repository manager to create the USB with the drivers that apply to your system. All can be obtained fromUsing the repository manager and booting from the windows 2008 media while the USB stick is.

Might be the faster way.yes, it is possible you are choosing the wrong drivers for the OS/perc controller. Dell repository manager lets pick the model, T310 and then it will bundle/assemble all the possible drivers for that model. Server 2008 R2 and later have the PERC drivers built into the OS files, so you shouldn't need to load them separately (that is why there are no 2008 R2 drivers listed on the download page - the only PERC 6 files are firmware updates).Array must be configured and initialized. You likely must be using SP1 media for compatibility. Are you getting to the point that it shows the location to install to and it doesn't show any drives? Or are you not even getting to the point that it asks where you want to install to? Make sure the message is not regarding a CD/DVD driver, as that typically means your media is bad.
